# OSINTCompass

> OSINTCompass is a curated, safety-aware directory of 120+ OSINT tools and GitHub projects for lawful public-source research.

OSINTCompass helps researchers compare tools by purpose, accepted input, access model, privacy sensitivity, maintenance status, and verification date. The current catalog contains 122 resources: 115 GitHub projects and 7 web tools, with 8 editor-selected resources featured on the homepage.

Coverage includes web search and archives; domain, DNS, and IP research; email and exposure checks; image and media verification; social and identity research; dark-web research; threat intelligence; geolocation and mapping; AI and agent workflows; directories and guides; web reconnaissance and crawling; and investigation platforms.

OSINTCompass links to original providers and repositories. It does not proxy searches, run scans, store remote evidence, authenticate users, or make claims about a target. External tools and metadata can change, so important details should be verified at the source. Users are responsible for authorization, applicable laws, provider terms, and responsible handling of personal or sensitive data.
